OK, here is some information about this site. I've been getting some requests for further information, so I decided to follow my friend JC's advice and put up this page.
First off, let me tell everyone that this is strictly a fan endeavor. I am in no way associated with Ms. Grier. To be honest, I don't even know if she is aware of this site.
The site was started on December 24, 2003, just shortly after I started a Yahoo fan group. Click here to visit the Original Pam Grier Fan on Yahoo. This site has been through many updates and changes in that short time in order to keep things fresh and new.
As you well know, there are many fan sites available when you do searches for information. I've been to most of these sites and just wasn't satisfied with their content. Most of the sites I visited fell into several different categories:
Not enough information. Most of the site was taken up with advertisement for other sites, products and various things. The information found on the sites was limited at best and not always very accurate.
Too outdated. Some of the sites that I visited were outdated. They hadn't been updated for several months, sometimes even several years. So, if you were looking for recent information, then you weren't going to find it there.
Too much sexual content. Some sites that I found pretty much used Ms. Grier's name in order to sell sex. If that's your thing, then those sites would definitely be for you. However, given the talent that Ms. Grier has shared with all of her fans over the years, she deserves better. So if you are looking for tons of naked pictures or talk of a sexual nature about Ms. Grier or anyone else, this site won't be for you. SO PLEASE STOP ASKING ME TO PUT UP NAKED PICTURES. IT'S JUST NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. AND STOP SENDING THEM. IF YOU HAVE THEM, THEN YOU DON'T NEED ME TO UPLOAD THEM.
Inaccurate information. On many sites I've found inaccurate information. I can't guarantee that the information that I have is accurate, but I try to verify this information through several different sources. I'm not trying to start rumors or cause anyone personal harm with the information on this page. Since I don't have contact with Ms. Grier and she is in no way involved with this site, then most of my information comes second-hand. If there are errors on this page, then I do apologize and will correct them when asked.
I know that people are only try to pay their respects to Ms. Grier through these other websites and I applaud their efforts. I know how difficult it can be to keep a website updated and maintained. This site takes a ton of work on my part to keep it interesting and fresh. I'm always looking for news, pictures and other information that might be of interest to fans of Ms. Grier.
Based on the number of emails that I get per day, I'd like to be able to answer all of them personally, but I just don't have the time. Since most of these seem to be requests for personal meetings, autographed pictures, email addresses and other information of a personal nature, then I see no reason to answer those. LET ME REPEAT, I DON' T KNOW MS. GRIER AND I HAVE NO CONTACT WITH HER. SO PLEASE STOP ASKING ME TO PASS ALONG YOUR PERSONAL REQUEST.
I've been a fan of Ms. Grier for a long time now and I greatly admire her work. I also greatly admire her as a person. She has been through some very difficult times in her life, and she has come through a stronger and better person. From various magazine articles and the few people that I've spoken with in the past, everyone seems to agree that Ms. Grier is a friendly, warm and caring person. I don't doubt that for a minute.
I hope that this site in some way does her justice. If she ever does come for a visit, I hope that the material she finds here is in no way offensive to her and that she has a good time.
